Evolution
Project
Leaf development and morphogenesis
How leaves acquire their shape through the control of boundaries, margin dissection and leaflet formation. We study the genetic and hormonal mechanisms involved, including NAM/CUC genes, miR164 and auxin, and their evolution across plants.
Project
Conservation and evolution of lncRNAs
How long non-coding RNAs diverge across species and accessions despite weak sequence conservation, and which features—structure, expression, genomic position—are preserved. We combine comparative genomics, transcriptomics and functional approaches to understand how lncRNA evolution contributes to plant adaptation.
