How plants adjust root growth, branching and nodulation to nutrient availability and environmental conditions, and how this plasticity supports adaptation to the soil. We combine genetics, quantitative imaging, phenotyping and transcriptomics to link root architecture to gene regulation, including non-coding RNAs.
